Hi. I saw your post and I could definitely relate. Trying a bunch of things is cool, but eventually people come to a realization, like you have, that your time is limited and you have to eventually narrow down what you really want to accomplish into only a few things. I guess you are discovering what you like, and that's OK. I've learned from my past dalliances in business and blogging. While I was not really a master at these things (not even close), it gave me confidence to go on so that when I finally made up my mind about one thing that I wanted to do for sure, I had some know-how that has actually helped me become successful in my current business. I will check out jpony.com. Good luck!

Jeremy,
Stick with it. I've been reading your wandering blogs at this site for months, and you have a lot of creativity. You need to blog about something you are passionate about. I found it difficult to figure out what would stick while I was in the blog idea development stage, too, so I started writing about what I was dealing with in the process itself, and it's evolved from there.

Also, don't worry about it being a "singular" idea. Because there are none. Find a niche, and join a discussion on a topic or field or industry or subject you love. Build relationships with people who have ideas similar to yours, and realize that your life experiences, your perspective, and your creativity are what make your ideas “original.” I love what you had to say about substituting “publish” for “create value” – but what it seems like you need to me is the confidence to realize that your well-developed thoughts and insights on a subject can be valuable in and of themselves. I’ll be interested to see where you go with this.

Ha ha! The program you speak of. Wow. I need it. Seriously, that's the only thing I really miss from my hard drive.

And nah, jeremydavid needs to be an original idea. You seem to be doing a better job than I would be able to. And I'm going to be traveling for over a year :D. I came up with a really cool web app idea in class today, so I might try to work on that. While I'm traveling.

A dead hard drive is the worst! I had that happen to me last fall the day before my dissertation had to go into the printer... while I was saving the final version. It was awful.

If you have an ipod, there's an application that can take songs off the ipod onto a new computer. Has saved my sanity a couple times.

And go for the idea blog if you want... I've just been teasing you!

This is also a great idea! Don't let that SOB push you out of the bcom blogging space though, we're business students, competition is part of our religion! Besides, I can't keep up with all the lessons on my own...

Aw thanks Michelle.

I agree with you completely though. The best way to write well is to do it the old fashioned way. And I am!

Take care,
